In Venezuela, UNICEF implements the Adolescent Kit in partnership with the Ministry of Education to provide adolescents nationwide with essential knowledge and life skills. The Adolescent Kit program, known locally as "Habilidades para la Vida," or "Life Skills," has been included in the national curriculum, reaching 398,459 young girls and boys, implemented by 14,852 teachers in 1,042 high schools, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education. In addition to supporting adolescents in developing essential skills, the Habilidades para la Vida curriculum incorporates essential topics, such as vocational orientation, comprehensive sexual education, and productive empowerment, equipping adolescents to manage life's challenges and make informed decisions about their future. UNICEF-Venezuela has provided 35,232 Adolescent Kits to catalyze this program, and the Ministry of Education, as the lead implementing partner ensures that the programme is delivered in a safe and supportive environment, by teachers trained in effective approaches and methodologies for engaging and teaching adolescents.
